Notes

A few have hardened into idioms: はやくして is "hurry up", not "make it
early", and やすくしておきます is a shopkeeper offering a discount.

Similar

  • The class of the quality word decides which one — い-adjectives take くする (たかくする), nouns and な-adjectives take にする (半分はんぶんにする, しずかにする) — though にする is heard first as picking an option off a menu, a reading くする never has.

Lookalikes

  • One verb apart with responsibility reversed — みじかくした says somebody cut it, みじかくなった says it ended up shorter with nobody named, so swapping them either accuses or excuses the person holding the scissors.
