Notes

これから can also fill a noun slot for the time ahead — これからの
予定よてい, これからが本番ほんばん — modifying a noun rather than the verb.

Related patterns

Similar

  • 〜ていく in its aspectual sense carries a change forward from inside the predicate and needs a verb of change to ride on (えていく); これから fixes only the STARTING point at now and modifies any predicate at all, change or not.

Lookalikes

  • Both end in から and both order events, but これから counts from this moment and stands on its own, while 〜てから needs a verb in front of it and counts from that act — べてから is "after eating", これから "starting now".
